In anticipation of the start of our GNDH pilot home and programs, we are devising an exhibit to use as a community outreach tool, something large and engaging to introduce the public to Green New Deal Housing and the work we do. We hope the exhibit will spark general interest in our organization and invite engagement from potential participants for our programs in workforce development and pathways to home ownership.
The exhibit will include a scale model of the Evergreen House (which will be the first home we build), a 4’ wide by 6’ tall full scale section of a typical GNDH wall, and information panels about our zero net energy homes and the programs and goals of the organization.

The GNDH Show and Tell exhibit will spend a month at a time in visible, accessible places with a strong connection to our community, from April through October of this year. We’ll soon post the schedule of locations, and we hope to host an Exhibit Opening Gala, which might be an outdoor socially distanced ribbon-cutting ceremony … stay tuned.
It takes many hands to create something new and we are grateful to the many hands involved in this project. Thank you in particular to:
● NERSDP for encouragement and in-kind assistance; ● Americorps VISTA Leah (through NERSDP) for drawings, model-making and project coordination; ● local carpenter Gimiwon Nahgahnub for building the wall section; ● the Pella Corporation for a custom-built, exhibit-worthy window; and ● the Lloyd K Johnson foundation for a grant to help pay for the labor and materials.
